Cold Morning Ends in Defeat

Sutton Valance 3rd XI welcomed a very young Folkestone at the prep.

It was clear from the start with the age of the opposition this was going to be a challenge on a chilly morning. The match started in good spirit with both teams winning the ball however both being unable to find the break thought.

Folkestone took the lead in the first half with an air shoot looped over the valance keeper.
Valance continued to battle back but Folkestone keeper was the rock for them. Towards the end of the first half the young players of Folkestone made some impressive runs which resulted in a few moments where the Valance defence was out numbered and the home team conceded two more before the half.

Team talk was about keep passing and keep possession.

Second half saw Folkestone make a breakthrough pass that left a one v one on the Valance keeper who was rounded for an unfortunate tap in, 4-0 down with nothing to lose Valance made some impressive moves and ended with a rifle shoot from Cullen to find the back of the net.

The remainder of the game was play with both teams making good runs into the opposition half to no avail.

Match concluded at 4-1 defeat. The game was played in good spirit. Shout out to the captain Rob Cockayne who had to retire early after a ball to the lower jaw resulting a split lip and hole.
