Sutton Valence travelled to Gillingham for the penultimate game of the season. Sutton Valence started
the game with a different formation, which gave them the edge with strong passes and movement
through the midfield.
Sutton Valence attacked the Gillingham half for the majority of the first half, to which Gillingham
defence worked together to keep the match level.
Christian Chadwick was there with a strong performance to prevent the attacks to deal with the rare
Gillingham attacks.
The first half continued in this fashion, however with the run of play Gillingham made the break though
with a well played ball down the wing to see Sutton Valence outnumbered.
With Gillingham’s tails now up it wasn’t long before with a similar play and a neat pass across the D for
the second goal.
First half saw one last Gillingham attack in which the ball was passed across the D to which the Sutton
Valence Keeper David Turner made a full body dive to get a stick to the ball to prevent the goal.
Second half started in similar pace with Sutton Valence on top from the start. Gillingham again only
attacks through quick counter, which led to a short corner for the home team; the corner was dealt
which but with another short.
The corner was played in with Gillingham playing a quick pass and a well timed hit that was lifted into
the net 3-0.
Sutton Valence continued to push right to the end of the match with a well executed consolation goal
for Henry Powell, who managed to shake his defender and slot top corner goal.
Match ended 3-1
