Sutton Valance travelled late into the Sundridge setting sun for what was the return leg of this South East Men’s Division 2 Invicta. The first leg saw Sutton Valance come out on top 8-1, but with nine of the squad unavailable, the aspiration was not to drop points with a bare 11.
The run of play was similar to the previous week as Sutton Valance seemed determined to give away as much possession as they could, by either not finding the pass or playing off the sideline. This is a recurring theme which Sutton Valance need to break if they are to return to the clinical pre-Christmas form.
The game itself saw some good passages of play and a much changed Sevenoaks team were able to go toe to toe with a depleted Sutton Valance team. Both keepers had to make saves which left the scorers untroubled. The pick of the home saves was a gloved deflection of a rising rocket from Stanford, who had a solid return to the village. Sevenoaks had an opportunity late on but the Sutton Valance keeper stayed on his feet to deflected the shot wide. Messrs Parker and Stille put in valuable performances, particularly as they are more used to the calmer tempo in Division 5 Invicta.
Final score 0-0, and the point enough to put Sutton Valance 3rd in the table
Team: Young, Blanchard, Parker, Lukish, Back, Robinson, McVarish, Carter, Angel, Stille, Stanford.
Next week Sutton Valance are home to Gore Court for a 14.30 push back
