Sutton Valance 2's VS Canterbury Squires

Buoyed after a very good performance and win last week, Sutton Valence went into this match with confidence that they could come away with a victory and start climbing the table, especially given the strength of the squad.

Unfortunately, having lost the toss and facing the sun, Sutton Valence were caught on the hop and conceded 2 early goals, through a combination of good luck and poor defending by all the Sutton Valence defenders. Quickly after this, Sutton Valence conceded a penalty corner, which was converted between the goalkeeper and post man.

Sutton Valence finally got into the game, and were on top for the remainder of the half, however were unable to convert their possession into meaningful attempts to trouble the keeper.

The half time discussion was around continuing what the team had been doing well, but sharpening up the passes and more talking. Sutton Valence took control of the game and from a sideline view, looked like they were probably in the lead. Sadly, another short corner was conceded and converted, between the other postman and goalkeeper. 4-0.

Sutton Valence didn't give up, and near the end scored a consolation goal, to finish the match 4-1.

All four goals were as a result of team errors, and Sutton Valence weren't clinical enough, but the spirit and squad strength is there to get out of the relegation battle.
