Sutton Valence welcomed Holcombe on what was an unusually warm day.
The game was played at a quick pass with both teams fielding a selection of youth players, both teams made adventures into each other’s half to either be denied by the opposition’s keeper or defence.
The deadlock was broken when Rob Cockayne passed the ball across the D to Rod Harcourt who placed the ball in the back of the net.
The game continued in similar fashion to how it started with both teams attacking and defending, unfortunately Holcombe managed to get a goal back with a short corner that was initially saved but the Holcombe player was able to poke the ball though from under the Sutton Valence keepers body, Holcombe then managed to claw a second before the half by a strong shoot rifled from the middle of the D to the opposite side of the keeper.
Half time talk was keep going we are not out this game yet we can bring this back.
Second half started the same as the first half with both teams pushing which Holcombe managed to make the most of with a well worked long corner which was poked passed the Sutton Valence keeper,
This how ever did not deter Sutton Valence but instead pushed them on with Captain Rob Cockayne slotting home the ball to make the score 2-3 with a huge cry of “come lads one more” this is exactly what happened when Henry Powell fired home the equalizer for the home side.
Both teams battled the remainder of the game searching for the winner which was found by Holcombe with a ball shoot from close range into top corner with just a few minutes left.
Match ended 3-4 to Holcombe but none of the Sutton Valences players come off disappointed as this was a great team effort.
