Tough Match for 2's

Sutton Valence faced off against league high-flyers Gravesham & Welcome in a match that brought renewed hope after a string of weeks marked by poor team availability. With a full-strength squad finally in attendance, Sutton Valence was eager to put in a solid performance against a tough opponent.

From the outset, Sutton Valence displayed confidence, pushing forward and creating several promising chances. The first half unfolded as a tightly contested affair, with both teams exhibiting skill and determination. Despite their efforts, Sutton Valence struggled to find the back of the net, while Gravesham & Welcome proved clinical, capitalizing on their opportunities to take a commanding lead.

As the second half commenced, the match took on a more scrappy tone, with tensions building between the players. Sutton Valence’s Ben T received a green card for a seemingly trivial infringement, requiring him to take a short breather on the sidelines.
This summoned up the second half with the visitors managing to control the game from the centre leaving Valence struggling.

Ultimately, the game ended 5-0 in favor of the visitors, a scoreline that felt harsh to Sutton Valence, given their strong first-half performance. The missed chances, particularly during several short corners, were a source of frustration for the team, who believed they could have kept the match much closer.

Looking ahead, Sutton Valence remains optimistic. With continued team availability and a performance akin to today’s, they are confident that their first win of the season is on the horizon
